Content licensing, subscription management, and on-demand purchasing are complicated. Our platform absorbs that complexity so researchers don't have to. Company History
Two decades of getting research into the right hands
Research Solutions was founded in 2006 with a simple promise: when a researcher needs a paper, they should get it quickly, legally, and without the runaround. That promise started as document delivery. It grew into Article Galaxy, a platform built to meet researchers where they already worked, from one-click access inside Google Scholar and PubMed to integrations with the tools libraries and R&D teams already relied on.
Access was never the end goal. Understanding is. In 2023, Research Solutions acquired ResoluteAI and Scite, adding AI-powered discovery and Smart Citations that show whether published research supports or contrasts the claims it cites. A 2024 rebrand made the direction official: one company, built to carry research from question to verified answer.
Today, more than 1,800 corporate customers and over 206,000 active users worldwide rely on Research Solutions, including 70% of top research organizations and academic institutions. The promise hasn't changed since 2006: get the research you need, the moment you need it, with the rights to use it.
